MY PHILOSOPHY

One of the most important things in life are relationships, not only with others but with ourselves. These relationships can often be some of the most difficult pieces in life, easily beginning to feel overwhelming and unsatisfying. I assist clients in identifying what changes need to be made within themselves or within their relationships to achieve the level of satisfaction that they are seeking.  I work with couples and individuals to obtain understanding and balance in their lives. I use research based couple's therapy techniques to help you ground each other through the turbulence and find connection to your partner. I help individuals maximize their personal strengths and potentials.

I work with couples and individuals in my practice.  I believe that each person's perspective is meaningful, and I provide a safe space to explore who you currently are, and who you wish to become. I focus on helping you to restore a sense of stability and connection, to feel rejuvenated in your life again.  I am here to help hold the hope for you when you are not able to do it for yourself.

I received a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University and I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Gonzaga University.  I have experience working with couples, families and adolescents struggling with relationships, peer socialization, emotional regulation, connection, and issues such as depression and anxiety. I focus primarily on couples work in my private practice. Additionally, I am a Level 3 Gottman Trained Couple’s Therapist.

I am a professional member of both the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the Washington Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. I hold a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I also work for The Gottman Institute in the Couples Department.

STRENGTH BASED APPROACH

I believe in personal evolution over time as we grow and change, and that everyone has unique strengths and inner goodness. Life just gets awful sometimes and it is about rediscovering the good within ones self, to see that you are powerful and can create a better meaning. I believe that the clients are the experts on their own lives, I am just there to help them to navigate their path to reach a level of balance and acceptance with the strengths that already exist.
