FAQ

How do I know if therapy will work for me?

That depends on you.  Therapy can improve your life and can help you to create change and transformation. It is often our willingness to change and really look at ourselves that determines how much you will get out of therapy.  The work in therapy can be tough and sometimes painful, but it can lead to great change and success in yourself and in your relationships. Sometimes, you just have to try therapy out to see if it feels right to you.

Does it mean that I am failing at life or in my relationship if I a coming to therapy?

Absolutely not. Life gets messy and we all need a helping hand or a new perspective on things to assist us at times.  You are stronger than others for wanting a better life and being willing to put in the work to obtain happiness through exploration.

Do you specialize in working with couples?

Yes, I specialize in working with couples in my practice. Unlike many therapists who see many different kinds of clients, my practice is focused on working with couples.

Do you have any night sessions?

I do offer some evening sessions in my practice, but these tend to be the most popular. I try to work with your schedule as best as I can to accommodate a time that works for you.

How long does therapy usually last?

The answer to this question is different for everyone. It mostly depends on the issue that you would like to work on in therapy and how ready you are for change.  The typical amount of time ranges from 3-6 months for clients to accomplish their goals.

How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?

It is very important to me as your therapist that your feel comfortable and safe when working with me. The relationship between therapist and client is the single biggest factor in the success of therapy.  There is probably nothing worse than sharing some very personal topics and not seeing an improvement.  I want my clients to feel that they can trust me, no matter what they are working on.
